Content standards

WoollamConsult editorial policy.

Last reviewed: 23 September 2026

This policy explains how educational content on WoollamConsult is prepared, sourced, reviewed and corrected.

Purpose of the content

Public articles are intended to help experienced and qualifying investors understand terminology, structures, risks and due-diligence questions associated with UK private market property and development finance.

The content is general education. It is not financial, legal or tax advice, a personal recommendation or a public invitation to invest.

Authorship and review

Articles are written and reviewed by James Woollam, founder of WoollamConsult. Each substantive guide shows its original publication date and latest review date.

Content is reviewed when relevant regulation, official guidance or the factual subject matter changes. A visible review date does not mean that every possible development has been incorporated, so readers should still verify current requirements independently.

Sources

Primary sources are preferred where practical, including the Financial Conduct Authority and FCA Handbook, HM Land Registry, Companies House and GOV.UK. Sources are linked near the relevant guide so readers can verify the underlying information.

Where a statement reflects practical experience or judgement rather than an official rule, the wording is kept appropriately qualified.

Risk and balance

Articles are written to explain both the intended purpose of a structure and its limitations. Security, asset backing, valuation or a projected return must not be presented as eliminating the possibility of delay, illiquidity or capital loss.

Commercial relationships

WoollamConsult may receive introducer remuneration from a provider or developer where an introduced investor completes an investment. Educational articles are not rankings of providers or products. Opportunity-specific information and relevant disclosures are handled separately through the controlled enquiry process.

Corrections

If an error or material omission is identified, the article will be reviewed and corrected as soon as reasonably practical, with its review date updated where the change is substantive.

To report a possible correction, email contact@woollamconsult.co.uk.
